The surah that mentions the advent of the message of the Quran and its Messenger as The Proof of a decisive revelation for both the disputing People of the Scripture and the unbelievers unlettered in God’s word. It is named after “the proof” (al-bayyinah) mentioned in verse 1 and verse 4. The surah spells out the basic tenets of faith, and contrasts the Fire of Hell with the lasting bliss that will be enjoyed by the faithful.The surah is also known as: The Clear Evidence, The Clear Proof, The Clear Sign, The Evidence.

لَم يَكُنِ الَّذينَ كَفَروا مِن أَهلِ الكِتابِ وَالمُشرِكينَ مُنفَكّينَ حَتّىٰ تَأتِيَهُمُ البَيِّنَةُ
lam yakuni lladhīna kafarū min ʾahli l-kitābi wa-l-mushrikīna munfakkīna ḥattā taʾtiyahumu l-bayyinatu
The faithlessfrom among the People of the Bookand the polytheistswere not set apartuntil the proof had come to them:

رَسولٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ يَتلو صُحُفًا مُطَهَّرَةً
rasūlun mina llāhi yatlū ṣuḥufan muṭahharatan
an apostle from Allahreciting impeccable scriptures,
3
فيها كُتُبٌ قَيِّمَةٌ
fīhā kutubun qayyimatun
wherein are upright writings.
4
وَما تَفَرَّقَ الَّذينَ أوتُوا الكِتابَ إِلّا مِن بَعدِ ما جاءَتهُمُ البَيِّنَةُ
wa-mā tafarraqa lladhīna ʾūtū l-kitāba ʾillā min baʿdi mā jāʾathumu l-bayyinatu
And those who were given the Book did not divide,except after the proof had come to them.

وَما أُمِروا إِلّا لِيَعبُدُوا اللَّهَ مُخلِصينَ لَهُ الدّينَ حُنَفاءَ وَيُقيمُوا الصَّلاةَ وَيُؤتُوا الزَّكاةَ ۚ وَذٰلِكَ دينُ القَيِّمَةِ
wa-mā ʾumirū ʾillā li-yaʿbudū llāha mukhliṣīna lahu d-dīna ḥunafāʾa wa-yuqīmū ṣ-ṣalāta wa-yuʾtū z-zakāta wa-dhālika dīnu l-qayyimati
Yet they were not commanded except to worship Allah,dedicating their faith to Himas men of pure faith,and to maintain the prayer and pay the zakāt.That is the upright religion.

إِنَّ الَّذينَ كَفَروا مِن أَهلِ الكِتابِ وَالمُشرِكينَ في نارِ جَهَنَّمَ خالِدينَ فيها ۚ أُولٰئِكَ هُم شَرُّ البَرِيَّةِ
ʾinna lladhīna kafarū min ʾahli l-kitābi wa-l-mushrikīna fī nāri jahannama khālidīna fīhā ʾulāʾika hum sharru l-bariyyati
Indeed the faithlessfrom among the People of the Bookand the polytheistswill be in the fire of hell,to remain in it [forever].It is they who are the worst of creatures.

إِنَّ الَّذينَ آمَنوا وَعَمِلُوا الصّالِحاتِ أُولٰئِكَ هُم خَيرُ البَرِيَّةِ
ʾinna lladhīna ʾāmanū wa-ʿamilū ṣ-ṣāliḥāti ʾulāʾika hum khayru l-bariyyati
Indeed those who have faith and do righteous deeds—it is they who are the best of creatures.

جَزاؤُهُم عِندَ رَبِّهِم جَنّاتُ عَدنٍ تَجري مِن تَحتِهَا الأَنهارُ خالِدينَ فيها أَبَدًا ۖ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنهُم وَرَضوا عَنهُ ۚ ذٰلِكَ لِمَن خَشِيَ رَبَّهُ
jazāʾuhum ʿinda rabbihim jannātu ʿadnin tajrī min taḥtihā l-ʾanhāru khālidīna fīhā ʾabadan raḍiya llāhu ʿanhum wa-raḍū ʿanhu dhālika li-man khashiya rabbahū
Their reward, near their Lord,is the Gardens of Eden,with streams running in them,to remain in them forever.Allah is pleased with them,and they are pleased with Him.That is for those who fear their Lord.
