The surah that opens with the mention of the Rivalry as mentioned in verse 1 . The surah criticizes man’s preoccupation with worldly wealth and stresses that he will be brought to account on the Day of Resurrection.The surah is also known as: Competition, Competition for Gain, Plenitude, Striving for More, The Piling Up, Vying for More and More, Worldly Abundance, Worldly Gains.

أَلهاكُمُ التَّكاثُرُ
ʾalhākumu t-takāthuru
Rivalry [and vainglory] distracted you
2
حَتّىٰ زُرتُمُ المَقابِرَ
ḥattā zurtumu l-maqābira
until you visited [even] the graves.
3
كَلّا سَوفَ تَعلَمونَ
kallā sawfa taʿlamūna
No indeed!Soon you will know!
4
ثُمَّ كَلّا سَوفَ تَعلَمونَ
thumma kallā sawfa taʿlamūna
Again, no indeed!Soon you will know!
5
كَلّا لَو تَعلَمونَ عِلمَ اليَقينِ
kallā law taʿlamūna ʿilma l-yaqīni
No indeed!Were you to know with certain knowledge,
6
لَتَرَوُنَّ الجَحيمَ
la-tarawunna l-jaḥīma
you would surely see hell.
7
ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّها عَينَ اليَقينِ
thumma la-tarawunnahā ʿayna l-yaqīni
Again, you will surely see it with the eye of certainty.
8
ثُمَّ لَتُسأَلُنَّ يَومَئِذٍ عَنِ النَّعيمِ
thumma la-tusʾalunna yawmaʾidhin ʿani n-naʿīmi
Then, that day, you will surely be questionedconcerning the blessing.
